I belong to the LGBTQ+ community. Many people, especially from older generations, may not fully understand LGBTQ+ identities because there has been limited public education and awareness on the subject in India. Greater efforts by the Government of India to provide accurate information, promote awareness, and encourage inclusion could help reduce prejudice and discrimination. I have experienced bullying and judgment in multiple workplaces because of my identity. I have changed my workplace three times in the hope of finding a respectful and inclusive environment, but I have continued to face similar treatment. In particular, during my employment with Shyam Spectra Pvt. Ltd., I experienced what I believe was severe bullying and harassment by the HR Head, Mridul Srivastava. According to my experience, the treatment I received had a profound impact on my mental health. The emotional scars have not faded, and I continue to struggle with anxiety. I have found it difficult to continue working with confidence and am currently undergoing treatment for the anxiety and emotional distress that I believe resulted from my experience there. I respectfully request that the appropriate authorities look into this matter and conduct a fair and impartial investigation. If any wrongdoing is found, I request that strict action be taken in accordance with the law and applicable workplace regulations. I also urge the Government of India to strengthen awareness, workplace sensitization, and protections for LGBTQ+ individuals so that others do not have to endure similar experiences. Every individual deserves to work in a safe, respectful, and non-discriminatory environment, regardless of their sexual orientation or gender identity.
